FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: absorbent article includes a substantially liquid-impermeable layer, a liquid-permeable layer, absorbent core structure positioned between the substantially liquid impermeable layer and the liquid permeable layer and a moisture sensor integrated into the article and arranged so that the sensor is in fluid communication with the physiological fluid coming from the user of the product. Wherein, the humidity sensor comprises ink comprising proton-chromogen, proton-donor agent, and an organic binder. Proton-donor agent comprises aliphatic carboxylic acid, a proton-chromogen is a leuco dye, which is generally colourless in a deprotonated state. Wherein, the weight ratio of proton-donor agent to the amount of the chromogen is from 0.4 to 10. When this colour ink undergoes a visible change from coloured to colourless upon contact with a physiological fluid. Also, the humidity sensor is provided for an absorbent product, which is described above.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of the sensor.
