SUBSTANCE: watermark signal generator generating a watermark signal carrying the watermark data for hidden embedding into an audio signal in the reduction of the watermark signal and the audio signal. The watermark signal feeding circuit includes a psychoacoustic processor, that determines the audio signal masking threshold, and a modulator, that generates a watermark signal based on the superposition of the reference forming functions mutually spaced by the temporary time reference amount of the watermark data discrete-time representation, from which each function, forming the time reference, has an amplitude weighted by using the respective time reference of the discrete-time representation multiplied by the corresponding amplitude weight depending on the masking threshold, wherein the time reference is shorter than the time interval, for which the time reference forming functions are defined; and an individual amplitude weight depends on the time reference of the discrete-time representation bordering this time reference.

EFFECT: optimal balancing the ability to calculate the watermark signal and the lack of its effect on hearing.
