FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves melting materials together with SiO2 and CaO-containing fluxes and coal in the Vanyukov converter furnace to produce blister copper, gases concentrated in SO2, slag with the ratio of SiO2/CaO in it from 0.4/1 to 3/1 and the concentration sums of iron, nickel and cobalt is not more than 30 wt %, with a specific oxygen consumption in the range of 150-240 nm3 per 1 ton of processed dry sulphide material. Further, this slag is depleted in a separate one in a Vanyukov reduction furnace, using an oxygen-containing gas mixture and a hydrocarbon fuel together with coal to produce a slag and a copper-nickel alloy.
EFFECT: producing blister copper, slag and copper-nickel alloy in a continuous manner, with separation of the processes of converting and recovering into separate two one-zone Vanyukov furnaces.
