FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: decoder for generating an output audio signal comprising one or more audio output channels from the downmix signal. The decoder comprises the first analysis module for converting the downmix signal to obtain the first converted downmix containing a plurality of channels of the first sub-range. The decoder comprises the second analysis module for generating the second transformed downmix by converting, at least, one of the channels of the first sub-range, to obtain a plurality of channels of the second sub-range, wherein the second transformed downmix includes the first sub-range channels, that were not converted by the second analysis module, and the channels of the second sub-range. The decoder comprises an upmix configured to upmix the second transformed downmix based on the parametric additional information on the said one or more audio object signals, to obtain an output audio signal.
