FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine contains a gas-distributing mechanism with a hydraulic drive. The gas distribution mechanism includes the oil line of the cylinder head, intake and exhaust camshafts with hydraulic control valves for opening and closing valves (VVT mechanism) installed thereon, hydraulic control valves and oil supply channels (6), (7). The surfaces of oil supply channels (6), (7) and the hydraulic part of the control valve are located below horizontal axis (8) of the oil line of the cylinder head, thus ensuring continuous supply of oil to working cavity (9) of the control hydraulic valve. The oil level is constant, as the potential oil leakage points through the process clearances in the engine's structural interfaces are above the working cavity.
EFFECT: ensuring the oil presence in the control hydraulic valve, thereby reducing the response time of the VVT mechanism to the controller signal.
