FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of payload delivery - of a scientific package to celestial bodies (planets, asteroids, comets, etc.) for their exploration and penetrator-device with payload, separated from the main space vehicle and representing an impact penetrating probe, penetrating into the soil of the celestial body for the exploration of the body and soil parameters. The invention provides a method for delivering payloads to a celestial body and a device for its implementation, according to which a payload is placed inside a ballast serving as an additional protective body for the payload, and high-strength ice modifications, such as ice-VII or ice-VIII, or ice-X, are used as the ballast material. After the impact penetration of the penetrator into the soil, the ballast and the scientific package in it are freed out of the protective casing, the ballast is removed, releasing the payload, and the soil of the celestial body is explored.
EFFECT: increased impact resistance of the payload and higher measurement accuracy of the soil and celestial body parameters.
