FIELD: space research.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space research and can be used for drilling cores of rocks on the Earth and the Moon and conducting research in boreholes with robotic devices. The drilling rig for studying rocks on celestial bodies contains an additional lead screw, on which, on the side of the electric motor, symmetrically with respect to the axis of the additional lead screw, there is a box for placing scientific instruments in the form of a cylinder with a hard-alloy indenter coaxially placed on its end. The body of the drilling rig is located on a platform that provides the ability to rotate the body of the drilling rig at an angle of 180 degrees with fixation in a fixed position at a rotation angle of 0 and 180 degrees. When the body of the drilling rig is rotated by 180 degrees, the axes of the bit and the additional lead screw change their position in space.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of conducting scientific research in the holes drilled by the drilling rig by delivering scientific instruments there.
