FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for displaying information on vertical displacement of shipborne landing strip (LS) when landing a helicopter on a ship. In order to display the information, a multifunctional indicator of LS vertical movement is set vertically on the superstructure of the ship in the direction of the helicopter landing approach, heaving motion of the LS center is displayed using super-bright LEDs located parallel to the long side of the indicator in the form of a bar chart with groups of LEDs of different colour, one of which displays the beginning of the movement, and the other - the predicted completion of the movement. A symbol of the third type is displayed on the field of a colourless bar chart - a symbol for indicating the safe approach of the helicopter.

EFFECT: safety of the helicopter landing on the ship in difficult weather conditions.
