SUBSTANCE: emissive device for emitting an air-treatment agent into the ambient air inside a dishwasher includes a housing inside which there is a solid or liquid source of the air-treatment agent. Said housing comprises of a wall and a plurality of openings that are quite small to be closed by a water film or a plug. These openings are the only openings which let the air-treatment agent pass through out to the ambient air. The group of inventions also relates to an air-treatment method in household appliances, which includes dry and wet operation steps using the device and which ensures the air-treatment agent emission during dry operation steps but not wet steps.

EFFECT: group of inventions prevents release of the air-treatment agent when the device is in a humid environment, which allows using the air-treatment agent in a rational manner.
