SUBSTANCE: apparatus and a method for the supply of gaseous fuel from the tender in 20 of the internal combustion engine 30 of the locomotive, including fuel storage at ultra-low temperature cryogenic tank 50 to 20 tender; cryogenic pumping fuel from the tank 50 to the first pressure by means of pumps 60 and 70; transfer fuel to a gaseous state under pressure through the first heat exchanger 90 at 20 specified tender; and fuel supply translated into a gaseous state, of the tender 20 in the internal combustion engine 30; wherein the gaseous fuel vapour pressure in the range 310-575 bar.
