FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method for controlling the charging stations (2, 8) for electric vehicles (A, B) consists in that they use the messaging between the charging station control device and the devices that are respectively connected to the electric vehicle or its driver. When the charging station control device receives a charging request that can not be satisfied in the current occupancy situation, the charging station control device takes the current charge state of each occupying electric vehicle as a basis for sending the message. The control device sends a message to the device associated with the occupying electric vehicle (A), which contains a request to free the charging station (2, 8) now or by a specific time. The control device sends a message to the device from which the charging request was received, which contains information regarding whether the charging station will become free or when the charging station is likely to become free.
EFFECT: increasing the utilisation factor of charging stations.
