FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method for automatical reconstruction of photo portraits from sketches consists in calculating sketches S and photos P of average values mS and mP according to the original samples; centering S and P relative to the average original samples, as a result of which they are converted to and ; analysing the main components of , as a result of which the eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors for the Gram matrix are calculated, which are recalculated into eigenvectors of the covariance matrix; calculating a spectrum for the given sketch in the basis formed by the eigenvectors of the covariance matrix, using the direct Karunen-Loeve transformation. The basis for the mutual transformation of the sketch into a photograph is calculated using eigenvalues, the eigenvectors for the Gram matrix and the centered sample of the original photos , the spectrum of the given sketch is modified L times by adding random noise to each of its components, obtaining L modified spectra from which the population of L photos is formed, corresponding to the given sketch.
EFFECT: improved speed of reconstruction of photo portraits from sketches.
