FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: composite protective image is a product of combination of several image elements sets that must be provided on the substrate as a result of a series of sequential production operations performed through the production equipment line. Method includes the steps of: a) providing digital image data representative of a composite protective image of protected document; b) modelling in the computer environment of production equipment line, by means of which a composite protective image must be produced; c) performing computer simulation of production results of a number of consecutive production operations based on digital image data and simulated production equipment line; d) evaluating computer-simulated production results and, based on these computer-simulated production results, determining whether a composite protective image can be produced on the production equipment line.
