FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for calibration and verification of gas meters includes placing reference meters inside pipeline. This verification and calibration of meters are carried out in a closed loop on real gas and at actual pressure. When feeding the air to create gas or air flow in the pipeline, the flow rate is adjusted by changing the rotational speed of the turbine. The amount of flow is controlled by the reference meter, by counting the number of pulses generated by the checked and reference meters for a predetermined interval of time, and then multiplying by the pulse cost individual for the checke and the reference meters, calculating the volume of gas in working conditions, and then recalculating the volume of gas under standard conditions. The error in calibration of meters is calculated by comparing the volumes of air under standard conditions measured by the checked and reference meters.

EFFECT: reduction of errors when calibrating gas meters.
