FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: frame element for packing flat objects comprises at least one first profile and a second profile joined longitudinally and in a single piece by a flexible hinge and each including an axial groove for receiving an object that is bounded on its sides by two successive gears. The corresponding teeth of these profiles, adjacent to the hinge, have contact stops to lock the two profiles in a relative angular position in which the corresponding grooves are exposed against the edge of the object to be protected.
EFFECT: effective closing and protection of the thickness of flat objects.
