FIELD: human vital needs satisfaction.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing the absorbent material comprises the following steps: providing a fibrous material comprising a plurality of individual fibers forming a fibrous matrix; wherein each of the plurality of absorbent fibers has a fiber diameter in the range from about 10 to 40 mcm; laying a plurality of absorbent fibers on the top surface of the fibrous material. Each of the plurality of individual fibers has a fiber diameter of at least 1 mcm greater than the diameter of each of the absorbent fibers; and introduction of a plurality of absorbent fibers into the fibrous matrix by a needle-punning method. The needle-punning method is carried out by means of a plurality of separate needles configured to insert absorbent fibers into the fibrous matrix. Each of the plurality of needles includes a hook having a hook depth. The said hook depth is selected such that the radius of each of the absorbent fibers is at least 0.5 microns smaller than the hook depth. The radius of each of the individual fibers forming the fibrous matrix was at least 0.5 microns greater than the depth of the hook.
EFFECT: providing a sparse elastic non-woven material that provides excellent liquid-holding properties.
