The method includes the following steps: (101) generating the SPE information about data forwarding containing the corresponding relationship between the multi-segment pseudowire (MSPW) information and the MSPW standby link group forwarding information or the corresponding relationship between the MSPW information and the MSPW forwarding information, except information about forwarding of the MSPW standby link group; (102) receiving an SPE overhead message containing information about the MSPW; (103) an SPE request for forwarding information of the MSPW standby link group or forwarding information of other MSPWs, with the exception of forwarding information of the MSPW standby link group; (104) performing the SPE encapsulation and label forwarding in accordance with the requested forwarding information of the MSPW standby link group or forwarding information of other MSPWs, with the exception of forwarding information of the MSPW standby link group.
