SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communications, in particular to a method and a forwarding device based on fast re-routing (FRR) and a network device. A method and device for forwarding based on fast re-routing (FRR) and a network device are proposed. The forwarding method includes: a message for which the FRR should be switched; the tunnel id in the message is reset; and the message switches to the tunnel exit, which is indicated by the tunnel identifier, for forwarding. The solution in the embodiments of the present invention resolves the problem of low switching speed during FRR forwarding in the known field of technology.
