FIELD: printing industry.
SUBSTANCE: method of applying an image to the surface of flat cork panels includes conducting a preliminary stage of preparing a graphic composition using a processor and corresponding software, and a stage of printing a multicolor image on the pre-primed panels. Printing is carried out by means of an inkjet printer having printheads with nozzles which eject microdrops of the desired colour onto the surface to be printed, and the processor contols the printer. The printing is carried out by applying to the surface of the cork panel a layer formed by applying the first printing layer with a white ink with a printhead extended relative to the other printing heads, with a successive application of a printing layer with a colour ink to produce a decorative printing layer.
EFFECT: creation of a method for applying a qualitative, namely wear-resistant, bright, clear decorative image on the surface of cork material by UV printing.
