FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes contacting an organic phase containing organic compounds with an aqueous phase containing peracetic acid, acetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide in a cascade of mixing reactors at a temperature of 50-60°C and the atmospheric pressure in countercurrent flow of the organic and aqueous phases until complete conversion of peracetic acid in each of the reactors, separating the reaction mixture after each of the reactors into the aqueous and organic phase, reducing the peracetic acid content in the aqueous phase by passing it through the bed of the heterogeneous acid-type catalyst, sulfocathionite, and recycling of the aqueous phase to the epoxidation step.
EFFECT: increasing the specific productivity of the reactor epoxidation unit using 37 percent of aqueous solutions of hydrogen peroxide.
