FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: according to the invention, epoxidated rapeseed oil is obtained by reacting rapeseed oil in the presence of a quaternary ammonium salt - trioctylbenzylammonium chloride, with aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution containing sodium tungstate and orthophosphoric acid. Molar ratio of hydrogen peroxide to double bonds of the rapeseed oil is equal to (1.15-1.30):1.00, respectively, and sodium tungstate, orthophosphoric acid and trioctylbenzylammonium chloride are taken in molar ratio of 1.00:2.60:(0.75-0.80), respectively. Hydrogen peroxide is added to the rapeseed oil at a rate of 0.022-0.044 mol per mol double bonds of the oil per minute. The epoxidation process is carried out at temperature of 60-70°C.

EFFECT: high quality of the epoxidated rapeseed oil owing to high degree of epoxidation and low degree of hydroxylation of the rapeseed oil.
