FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to pharmaceutical industry and discloses a natural biocomposite powder. The biocomposite powder contains 20-95% (w/w) chitin glucan (CGC) complex and up to 50% mannose-containing polysaccharides extracted from Pichia pastoris yeast biomass, where the particle size of the biocomposite powder is in the range of 5 to 1500 mcm, and where the apparent bulk density of the biocomposite powder is from 0.05 to 1.0 g/cm3. It has also been proposed to use the said biocomposite powder as an excipient in pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food industries.

EFFECT: group of inventions allows to obtain a unique additive, which can be used as a multifunctional excipient in the pharmaceutical industry.
