FIELD: engine devices and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: pump has a housing inside which disc stack is mounted for rotation (3) variable thickness in radial direction, inlet and outlet branch pipes. The discs (3) are made of streamlined parabolic shape. The width of the gap between the discs (3) decreases from the center to the periphery and is defined by the expression that is associated with actual width h of the gap (9) between the discs (3) from the inlet to the outlet, the width hin of the gap (8) between the discs (3) at the inlet, the diameter din of discs (3) at the inlet, the actual diameter d of the discs (3) from inlet to outlet, liquid consumption per one gap between discs (3), thickness of boundary layer at laminar flow, coefficient of kinematic liquid viscosity, disc rotor rotation rate and dimensionless parameter characterising the ratio of the width of the gap between the discs (3) to the thickness of the boundary layer on the rotating disc (3).
EFFECT: optimisation of the disc pump parameters including the optimal choice of shape and size of the inlet diameter of the discs, rotation rate of the rotor depending on properties of liquid and flow rate for achieving maximum efficiency and pump head, which makes it possible to use it in artificial blood circulation systems.
