FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device for bending sheet glass comprises: a profiled convex shape with a glass blank arranged thereon, and a bending mechanism. The mould is installed in an electric furnace. The bending mechanism includes a pressure frame made in the form of two profiled plates connected by flexible strips. The device has two supporting elements made in form of plates located under the glass blank in front of profiled plates. The bending device further comprises two flexible belts connected to the supporting plates and contacting the lower surface of the glass blank and lying on the mould. The mechanism drive is in the form of a drum on a motor shaft, and arranged above furnace and connected with flexible members through holes in the furnace to the edges of the supporting plates by rollers. The profiled convex shape is provided with a step at the edges or the perimeter of the outer surface and has a height ranging from 0.1 to 1.5 mm and width of 50-100 mm with curvature corresponding to curvature of mould surface.
EFFECT: improved optical quality of curved surfaces and reliability of the device.
