FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of halogenated polymers. Method of treating waste water formed when producing halogenated polymers in aqueous medium, includes a step of physicochemical treatment of at least one part of said waste water, wherein one part is subjected to treatment using one physical treatment; a final treatment step including biochemical filtration using a membrane bioreactor of at least one part of water formed after physicochemical treatment. Physicochemical treatment involves mixing waste water, as well as clarification in combination with use of coagulants and flocculants. Physical treatment includes filtration, thermal treatment, including a step of evaporating waste water to produce evaporated waste water and step of condensing evaporated waste water to produce condensed waste water or treatment, which is a combination of filtration and thermal treatment.

EFFECT: method ensures reduction of fresh water consumption when producing a halogenated polymer and efficient recycling of purified waste water.
