FIELD: automotive engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in each half of the tread there are two pairs (2, 3) of rows of blocks separated from each other by first circumferential grooves (4, 5), circling around the circumference and formed at the maximum depth of the profile. Between the rows (6, 7, 8, 9) of the blocks, in each pair of rows of blocks, second circumferential grooves (10, 11) are made that are narrower than the first circumferential grooves (4, 5) and run in the depth less than the maximum profile depth. All transverse grooves (6b, 7b, 8b, 9b) have a depth varying along their extent so that their bottom, if viewed in cross section, passes along a curve that is slightly curved in S-shape. The depth of the transverse grooves (6b, 7b, 8b, 9b) at the points of their intersection with the first circumferential grooves (4, 5) or at their ends on the outer arms (20) of the tire corresponds to the maximum depth of the profile. And, the depth of the transverse grooves (6b, 7b, 8b, 9b) in the areas of intersection with the second circumferential grooves (10, 11) corresponds to the depth of these circumferential grooves (10, 11).
EFFECT: improved grip and steering performance of the tires on snowy roads.
