FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: non-fluoride flux contains, wt %: Na2O 3-10, Li2O up to 3, MgO, 3-8, MnO 5-15, BaO up to 8, Al2O3 4-12 and impurities with a content of not more than 2%, the rest is CaO and SiO2, while the CaO/SiO2 ratio is 0.8-1.3. The raw materials are mixed and then melted in advance. The pre-molten flux requires adjustments according to the variance of the component content, at that the proportion of pre-molten material is not less than 70%. Then carbonaceous material is added in the amount of 1-3% of flix total weight and mixed until ready flux is obtained. The flux has a melting point of 1100-1200 °C and viscosity of 0.2-0.6 Pa⋅ sat 1300 °C. The method for production of crystalliser flux includes the following stages: mixing raw materials, pre-melting for producing preliminary melt, continuous replenishment of raw materials in the preliminary melt to obtain a matrix with sought composition. Then carbonaceous material is added to matrix and mixed to produce ready flux without boron and without fluoride.

EFFECT: reduction of defects in the form of inclusions in castings and increase of castings yield.
