SUBSTANCE: heat treatment of grinding bodies from carbon steel after punching or rolling heating to temperatures of 900-1250°C with quenching in water carried out in the quenching bath with an inclined conveyor placed therein for conveying the product from the quenching bath inside the tray in which water is supplied to the conveyor of the grinding body on the conveyor with a variable volume flow rate, which is determined by the formula: Vv=(Cm⋅ΔTm⋅mm⋅N)/(Cv⋅ΔTv⋅ρv).
EFFECT: increase of process efficiency with achievement of high indicators on qualitative characteristics.
