METHOD OF FABRICATING ARMOORED PLATE FROM POLYMER COMPOSITES AND ARMORED PLATE MADE FROM POLYMER COMPOSITES Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC F41H1/04 

FIELD: weapon and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing the armored plate made of polymeric composites consisting in compressing a package(2) of layers (3) of aramid material impregnated with elastic synthetic binder based on urethane prepolymer. Each layer (3) of aramid material is formed from parallel fibers (6) by changing their direction along the layers (3). At the same time complex fibers (6) of complex non-twisted aramid yarns (7) with a density of 150-180 tex are used, with their laying close to each other. Each three layers (3) of these parallel yarns (7) are combined into webs (8), with the direction of the yarns changing along the layers (3) being performed inside the web (8) by an angle 45°. Each web (8) is sewn with seams (9) with their arrangement perpendicular (10) to the yarns of the inner layer (11), with a stitch of two or five yarns (7) of the outer layer (13), with a distance (14) between the seams (9), equal to the length of two or four stitches. An armored panel made of polymer composites made by this method is also proposed.

EFFECT: increased reliability of the armored panel operation and reduced complexity of its manufacture.
