FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: orthopedic implant made of titanium and stainless steel with antiadhesive antimicrobial coating, made of titanium and stainless steel in the form of an intraosseous implant for large and small joints, as well as elements of fastening for the spine and long bones of patient's skeleton. The surface of an orthopedic implant of titanium and stainless steel, preliminarily ion-etched by argon ions is coated (by plasma spraying) by a two-component antiadhesive antibacterial biocompatible nanocoating with a thickness of 9 to 1180 nm containing spherical nanoparticles made of high-purity silver with a size of 4.5-9.5 nm with continuous protective carbon nanocoating from tetrahedral ta-C type diamond with a thickness of 0.4-1.2 nm deposited on their surface.
EFFECT: reliable high antiadhesive antibacterial properties, reliable barrier for bacterial biofilm formation on the surface of the metal orthopedic implant during its operation, high biological compatibility in various physiological environments of the patient's body, reliable protection of the implanted metal orthopedic implant surface against periprosthetic infection.
