FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for measuring characteristics of amorphous ferromagnetic microwires (AFM), the analyzed AFM is rigidly fixed at one end, and to the other end an initial tensile stress is applied by a load σ0. With the help of a solenoid a certain initial magnetic field H0z is created, which is directed along the AFM axis magnetizing the AFM sample up to saturation. A sine-wave electric current I is passed through AFM in frequency range ƒ from 5…10 kHz. Measuring and plotting of the dependence of the EMF signal in the measuring coil at doubled frequency of 2ƒ depending on the applied alternating external magnetic field H is carried out. Wherein the measurements are carried out for several values of the mechanical stresses σ1…σN (where n≥2). The value of magnetic fields for a pair of different mechanical stresses is determined based on plotted dependences at fixed EMF values, then at fixed field value, a pair of EMF values is determined for the same pair of mechanical stresses, after which calculation of seed field of anisotropy Ha is carried out, quenching stresses Δσ, saturation magnetization Ms and magnetostriction constants λs are set.

EFFECT: determination of saturation magnetization and magnetostriction constant in one cycle of measurements, as well as further determination of internal quench voltages of amorphous ferromagnetic microwires.
