SUBSTANCE: method for updating firmware in an intelligent device containing the first chip and the second chip. The second chip has the first section and the second section, the original firmware of the second chip is in the second section. The method includes identifying the first section of the flash memory in the second chip, when it is determined that the firmware of the first chip needs updating; loading the new firmware of the first chip into the said first section; and copying the new firmware of the first chip from the first section to the work area in the first chip.
EFFECT: ensuring that the firmware of the first device chip is updated based on the flash memory in the second device chip, thus avoiding the use of additional control logic during the update and saving the device resources.
