FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the rolled wire roller (30) for directing the continuous steel billet in the continuous casting machine and the method of this rolled wire roller (30) cooling by the cooling medium. The rolled wire roller (30) has the left (10a) and the right support pillar (10b), the fixed shaft (11) connected without ability to rotate to the left (10a) and to the right support pillar (10b), the cylindrical roller housing (12), the left (13a) and the right bearing (13b) and the water jacket (1). The cylindrical roller housing (12), with the help of the left and the right bearings (13a, 13b), is leant with ability to rotatate relatively to the fixed axis (11). The water jacket (1) conducts the cooling water from the left cavity (14) between the axis (11) and the water jacket (1) in the left bearing (13a) area into the longitudinal space (16) between the water jacket (1) and the roller housing (12), along the longitudinal space (16) in the axial (x) and tangential direction (t) and from the longitudinal space (16) into the right cavity (14b) between the water jacket (1) and the axis (11) in the right bearing (13b) area.
EFFECT: rolled wire cooled roller resistance to mechanical damages increase.
