FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: application of melatonin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as a drug (also for drug preparation, as a biologically active additive - versions) is proposed for treatment of acute alcohol intoxication, hangover symptoms, headaches after consumption of ethyl alcohol or severe typical hangover symptoms, similar headaches after alcohol consumption, at which 0.5 to 2 l of water is administered immediately, before or after application of the sublingual plate not in a retarded form or slowly releasing form containing 0.1 to 5 mg of melatonin, once before going to bed.
EFFECT: tested subject did not suffer from typical hangover symptoms, usually associated with taking alcoholic beverages.
