FIELD: engine devices and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: rotation rate of high-pressure rotor shaft and low-pressure rotor shaft is reduced until rotors rotation rate is equal, the rotors are engaged with each other by means of an overrunning coupling located between the shafts, and after reaching idle rotation rate of jointly-rotating rotors, rotation rate of the rotors is maintained constant by means of adjustment of speed air head of air before engine is started.

EFFECT: rpm of the high pressure rotor shaft is maintained at a level sufficient to start auto rotation mode during the flight: increased service life of the engine auxiliary power plant, increased reliability and failure-free operation of the power plant.
