SUBSTANCE: method comprises feeding the liquid lubricant from the hydraulic oil pressure line to the central part of the bearing through the holes in the body of the pad, distributing the lubricant between the bearing rubbing surfaces and draining the used lubricant into the oil pockets located on both sides of the pad and from the pockets - to the hydraulic oil drain line. Reducing the consumption of liquid lubricant, increasing the durability of the parts of the supporting node of the turning roller and simplifying the design of the hydraulic system are provided by the fact that gas is continuously fed into the oil pockets and a gas environment pressure in them exceeding the air pressure of the environment and the gas environment pressure in the oil drain pipeline, and lower than the pressure of the lubricant entering the bearing from the pressure oil line, is maintained. The gas environment pressure in the inner oil pocket on the side of the roll body is maintained higher than the gas environment pressure in the outer oil pocket on the side of the mill service area and the gas environment pressure in the outer oil pocket on the side of the mill service area is maintained higher than the gas environment pressure in the oil drain line. Air or nitrogen is used as gas.
EFFECT: reduction of the liquid lubricant consumption, increasing of the rolling roll support unit parts durability and simplification of the hydraulic system design.
