FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a closed method and system for producing polyvinyl chloride PVC. The method involves the production of calcium carbide enriched in oxygen and carbon monoxide CO in a high-temperature melting furnace, where limestone and carbonaceous materials react like coal. Further acetylene and dichloroethane are produced from calcium carbide and CO (with ethylene, etc. through methanol or ethanol). Both of the end products are combined with the formation of a closed loop. Acetylene and dichloroethane are reacted to produce a vinyl chloride monomer that polymerizes to produce PVC. The system includes a device for grinding and mixing, and transporting solid raw materials, a calcium carbide melting furnace saturated with oxygen, a supercharger, a shell-and-tube thermostatic reactor, a fixed-bed tube reactor, a fluidized bed reactor, an acetylene generator with a heat exchanger, a fixed bed reactor and a polymeriser.
EFFECT: effect of environmental protection, energy conservation and high efficiency.
