SUBSTANCE: method includes the steps of: sending, by the access point (AP), a multicast group identifier (MID) of a multicast group to STA station. A multicast group has one or more MIDs, and each MID corresponds to one multicast group and reception period of STA in the multicast group; DTIM beacon frame is sent to STA by AP, wherein the DTIM beacon frame includes MID and is used to indicate a multicast group that has multicast information to be sent to STA; and multicast information of multicast group is sent by the AP, wherein the multicast information carries MID or information associated with MID, and the multicast information is received by STA.
EFFECT: reduction of resource consumption of STA station.
