FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method of forecasting the popularity of content a reference to the content element is received from the database of a web robot, data is retrieved from the search log and the browser log. The data from the search log is the search activity of the users of the search system server directed to the content element. The data from the browser log is the browser activity of the users of the browser application directed to the content element. Statistic web data is received from the database of the web robot. The data represents built-in objects or references to the content element that is contained in web resources which lead to the content element. The popularity of content is forecast based on (i) data from the search log; (ii) data from the browser log or (iii) statistic web data.
EFFECT: expansion of the arsenal of technical means of forecasting the popularity of content.
