FIELD: machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: titanium alloy blank is subjected to equal channel angular pressing, after which it is plastically deformed by extrusion. The equal channel angular pressing is carried out at 700°C for 8 cycles. The extrusion is carried out at a rate exceeding 1 s-1 per 5 cycles. The first 4 cycles are carried out at 300°C, and the last cycle is carried out at 20°C. Then ion cleaning of the blank surface by argon ions is carried out at energy from 4 to 7 keV and current density of 100 to 120 μA/cm2 within 30 minutes. Then a protective ion-plasma coating with thickness of 5.5 mcm is applied. The coating consists of 2 sublayers of pure titanium with thickness of each sublayer 0.2 mcm and two functional layers of titanium and metal compound with nitrogen. The thickness of each functional layer 2.55 mcm.

EFFECT: increased structural strength of the parts.
