FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: technically pure titanium for bio-medicine has structure of nano-crystal grains of alpha-phase with hexagonal tight-packed lattice, wherein volume share of grains of dimension 0.1…0.5 mcm and ratio of grain shape not more, than 2 in mutually perpendicular planes is not less 90 %; also more, than 60 % of grains have high angle boundaries disorientated relative to neighbour grains at angles from 15 to 90°. The method of producing wire out of technically pure titanium of nano-crystal structure consists in intensive plastic deformation, in producing a billet by equal channel angular moulding at temperature not higher 450°C with a summary veritable accumulated deformation e≥4 and in successive thermo-mechanical treatment with a degree of deformation from 40 to 80 %. During thermo-mechanical treatment there is performed plastic deformation at gradual temperature drop within interval T=450…350°C and rate of deformation 10-2…10-4 s-1.
EFFECT: material possesses strength, fatigue longevity and bio-compatibility.
