FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes enhanced oxidation of contaminants using ozone and UV-radiation - photolytic ozonation in a heterogeneous system of water-ozone-oxygen mixture. Hydrogen peroxide is introduced into water in proportion to the amount of ozone supplied. The set pH value is monitored and maintained. Water is passed through a catalytic filter. After treatment, water is again fed to the inlet of the purification system. Ozonation in the heterogeneous system is carried out at the gas/liquid phase interface. As an alternative to the heterogeneous system, a water-ozone-air mixture is used. The device for heterogeneous photochemical purifying water contains an ozone generator 1, a system 2 of introducing ozone into water, a photochemical reactor 3, a gas separation system 4, a hardware-software control complex 8, a treated water circulating system, a catalytic filter 5, Ph correcting node 6, a hydrogen peroxide dosing node 7. The system 2 of introducing ozone into water is connected directly to the inlet of the photochemical reactor 3.

EFFECT: effective water disinfection from microbiological contaminants, providing deep oxidation of organic compounds, detoxification of inorganic contaminants, purification of water in a wide range of concentrations of pollutants in the absence of contaminants introduced into the purified medium by the water purifying technology.
