SUBSTANCE: system of purifying sewage using powdered activated carbon comprises a device for adding activated carbon, a mixing and processing device, a device for separating water and activated carbon, a backwash device, a control system, and a power module. The method of purifying sewage using powdered activated carbon comprises uniform mixing of powdered activated carbon and sewage and transporting them through a feed pump (306) to the device for separating activated carbon and water. With the pressure sensor (404), the pressure difference between the water inlet pressure and the water discharge pressure in the device for separating activated carbon and water is determined. The backwash device is activated to backwash the hollow microporous filter tube (302) of the device for separating activated carbon and water. The backwash device is switched off and the solenoid valve (304) is activated to release the activated carbon slurry, dehydrate, dry and activate the activated carbon slurry. Separated powdered activated carbon is collected and recycled.

EFFECT: invention allows to provide highly effective sewage purification using powdered activated carbon and to simplify the regeneration of powdered activated carbon.
