FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: fluid for treating a subterranean formation containing an aqueous two-phase system comprising a first aqueous phase and a second aqueous phase, wherein the first phase comprises NCC containing nanocrystalline cellulose comprising NCC core particles having a crystal structure, the NCC particle concentration in the first phase is higher than their concentration in the second phase, and the fluid is capable to become more viscous than either the first phase or the second phase, when the aqueous two-phase system passes into a single-phase system. The method for treating the subterranean formation comprises injecting said fluid into the subterranean formation. The fluid for treating the subterranean formation contains a solvent, a composition comprising nanocrystalline cellulose containing rod-shaped NCC particles having a crystalline structure and gas. The fluid is a foamed cement suspension comprising gas in amount of approximately 10 to 80% by volume of the suspension. The invention is developed in subclaims.
