FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: collection of at least one sample of the reservoir rock is performed, and the density, porosity and rock component composition of selected rock sample is determined. Based on the obtained values, a petrophysical model of the reservoir is created. The thermal conductivity of the sample is measured. Using the created petrophysical model of the reservoir, the thermal conductivity of the rock sample is calculated. The measured and calculated thermal conductivity of rock sample is compared, and mechanical properties of rock are determined using the created petrophysical model of the reservoir in case of coincidence of measured and calculated values of thermal conductivity. If the difference between the measured and calculated values of thermal conductivity is found, the adaptation of the created petrophysical model of the reservoir is performed at least one time by changing the parameters of the model. The adapted petrophysical model is used to calculate the thermal conductivity of rock sample and compare the measured and calculated thermal conductivity to match the measured and calculated thermal conductivity values. When values of measured and calculated thermal conductivity coincide, mechanical properties of rock are determined using adapted petrophysical model of the reservoir.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and quality of evaluation of formation properties by providing the possibility for calculating the values of unknown or not completely known mechanical or bearing properties of the reservoir.
