SUBSTANCE: method for preparation of coal charge for production of metallurgical coke includes selection of charge composition in the form of a mixture of fat coal + fat gas coal, fat gas coal, coke coal, low-caking coke coal, depleted coke coal, depleted sintering coal and coal-tar pitch as an organic additive. When selecting the components in the charge composition, fat coal is additionally introduced in amount 3.0-16.0 wt %, fat coke coal 1.0-8.0 wt % and petroleum coke coal, at that the charge contains the following components in the ratio, wt %: caking coal, including: fat gas coal; 13.0-18.0 - fat coal; 3.0-16.0 - mixture of fat coal + fat gas coal 2.0-6.0 with total amount of sintering coals 18.0-40.0; coke coal including: -coke; 19.0-22.0-fat coke;1.0-8.0 with a total amount of coke coals 20.0-30.0; depleted coals including: low-caking coal 5.0-10.0 - low-caking cake coal; 14.9-18.0 - depleted sintering coal 10.0-22.0 with total amount of depleted coals 29.9-44.0; The granulated coal-tar pitch 0.1-5.0; petroleum coke 0.1-6.0. After preparation of charge composition and after adding coal-tar pitch additives of granulated and petroleum coke into the coal mixture, the charge is crushed and evenly mixed in hammer mills.

EFFECT: improved sintering and coking of charge, production of coke with increased mechanical strength and reduced wearability.
