FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a scintillator composition comprising the following materials and any reaction products thereof: a matrix material comprising: the first component of, at least, one element selected from the group consisting of alkali metals and thallium; the second component is sodium; the third component is lanthanum; the fourth component of, at least, two elements selected from the group consisting of fluorine, chlorine and bromine, or (ii) more than two elements selected from the group consisting of halogens; and an activator for the matrix material containing cerium. The scintillator composition is Ce3+ activated mixed halide with an elpolyolite structure, and wherein the matrix material further comprises bismuth and the said bismuth is present in an range amount of about 1 mol % up to 40 mol % based on the total number of activator moles and matrix material. Also, the invention relates to a radiation detector device and a high-energy radiation recording method.
EFFECT: composition has an excellent light output, a short afterglow time, and good energy resolution characteristics.
