FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: catalyst has a specific surface area in the calcined state of 20-50 m2/g and a specific surface area of metallic nickel of 8-11 m2/g after reduction of the catalyst, the average particle size of metallic nickel is 3-8 nm and the particle dispersion is 10-16%. The catalyst contains 5-15 wt % of nickel by weight of the calcined catalyst. The carrier has a specific surface area of 40-120 m2/g and a pore volume of the carrier of 0.2-0.4 cm3/g. The carrier is selected from mixture of: zirconium oxide and cerium oxide or magnesium oxide, cerium oxide and zirconium oxide. The catalyst further comprises a promoter selected from the group: palladium, ruthenium, in the amount of 0.01 to 0.5 wt %. The catalyst is produced by co-precipitation with ammonium hydroxide from a solution containing precursors of nickel, cerium, zirconium, and distilled water, or a solution containing precursors of nickel, cerium, zirconium, magnesium, and distilled water having a pH of 8.0 to 9.0. The process is carried out with stirring and the temperature of 40-45°C for 1-2 hours, followed by filtration, drying at the temperature of 100-110°C for 6-8 hours and calcination at the temperature of 400-650°C for 4-6 hours.
EFFECT: invention provides a high average conversion of natural, associated gas in the autothermal reforming reaction of natural or associated gas and high productivity in synthesis gas.
