FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: method of automatically forming maintenance route in process control system includes creating an initial ordered list of all wireless nodes that directly interact with wireless gateway. Nodes are ordered in accordance with the signal level with respect to the wireless network gateway. The subsequent ordered list is created from all the nodes directly interacting with the first node of the original ordered list, with the nodes arranged in accordance with signal level with respect to the first node. Then, the subsequent ordered list is appended to the original ordered list after the first node. This process of creating a subsequent list and appending the source list is multiply repeated each time at the expense of the node in the appended ordered list following the previous iteration, until all the nodes are taken into account. At the last iteration, the nodes correspond to the stopping points along the route and the nodes order correspond to the route that must be traversed through the stop points.

EFFECT: ability to automatically form an equipment maintenance route.
