SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for production of a transformed rose plant with an increased delphinidine content in the petals compared to a non-transformed rose plant comprising the step of transformation of a garden rose (Rosa hybrida) with a plasmid containing a polynucleotide encoding a protein having the activity of flavonoid 3',5'-hydroxylase, and a 35S cauliflower mosaic virus promoter operably linked to the said polynucleotide. The invention also relates to a transformed rose plant that contains a high amount of delphinidine in the petals compared to a non-transformed rose plant.

EFFECT: invention allows to efficiently obtain a rose plant with a high delphinidine content in the petals compared to a non-transformed rose plant.
